How often has something you own broken down and eventually ended up in the bin? It is increasingly difficult to find a repair service for electronic and mechanical items, furniture, clothes and toys.
Reading Transition Town have set up regular “Repair Cafes”, where volunteers with a range of skills will have a go at repairs, provide advice or help you to do it yourself. They provide help with a wide range of items such as:
- Electronics
- Mechanical items
- Computers (hardware/software)
- Toys/Furniture
- Clothing/Textiles
- Tool sharpening
They will also help with craft projects you’re working on and are open once a month. The “Repair Cafes” are held either in rLab, Unit C1, Weldale Street or at the Reading International Support Centre (RISC) in London Street.
